The 2025 Quantum Venture Summit, held as the 6th Workshop on Quantum Computing Entrepreneurship at IEEE Quantum Week, was a great success. Michael leads the world's premier quantum technology economic intelligence firm's global team of experts, overseeing the development of proprietary intelligence products that guide critical decisions across the quantum ecosystem. With an academic foundation from Cambridge, ETH Zurich, and Harvard Business School, combined with hands-on research experience at CERN Quantum & AI and Los Alamos Quantum Labs, he brings a rare blend of deep technical expertise and strategic business acumen to the rapidly evolving quantum sector.
In his role at GQI, Michael serves as a critical bridge between the quantum technology ecosystem and its key stakeholders—engaging daily with national security advisors evaluating quantum implications, venture partners deploying capital, enterprise leaders planning quantum adoption strategies, and government officials shaping policy frameworks. He transforms complex quantum technical developments into actionable strategic intelligence, ensuring that C-suite executives and senior decision-makers have the insights needed to navigate one of the most complex technology transitions of our time.
Michael's achievements include authoring top journals peer-reviewed quantum papers, winning two global quantum hackathons against 700+ competitors, and being recognized as Europe's best young scientist at EUCYS by the European Commission.

Speaker: Dr. Tobias Denzler, Head of Science and Technology, QAI Ventures
After obtaining a quantum physics PhD from the University of Stuttgart, Tobias Denzler became a scientific consultant in Berlin. In this role, he advised and managed the German Federal Ministry of Research and Education's quantum technology activities. Subsequently, he joined QAI Ventures in Basel as Head of Science and Technology. There, he leads the technical evaluation and support of investments in quantum startups and establishes partnerships with academic partners.
10:50-11:10 AM: Investing in the Quantum Ecosystem
Speaker: Dr. Marissa Ramirez de Chanlatte, Investor, Playground Global
As an investor at deep tech venture capital firm Playground Global, Marissa works with early-stage companies in quantum, high performance, and AI computing, automation, and energy transition technology. Her background includes modeling nuclear reactors on the Titan supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Lab and working with the Applied Numerical Methods Group at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the Vision & Language Group at Berkeley AI Research to bridge the gap between traditional HPC and AI models. She holds a Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD from UC Berkeley in Pure Mathematics, Nuclear Engineering, and Computational & Data Science, and maintains an active research affiliation with LBNL. She also co-founded and advises Prompt AI, a consumer, multimodal AI startup.

Nardo Manaloto is the Managing Partner of Qubits Ventures, a venture capital firm investing globally in pre-seed to series A stage startups in quantum technologies, advanced computing, data, intelligence, and infrastructure. With more than 25 years at the intersection of AI, emerging technologies, and entrepreneurship, he brings a unique blend of technical expertise and investment acumen to identifying and scaling breakthrough innovations.
At Qubits Ventures, Nardo is driving the next wave of computing by backing visionary founders building the infrastructure, intelligence, and applications that will define the future. Beyond venture investing, he is also spearheading the development of a global venture studio network to accelerate commercialization of deep technologies, with active initiatives in the U.S., India, and international markets.
Nardo has become a recognized voice in the quantum and frontier tech ecosystem, advising governments, corporations, and research institutions on ecosystem development, venture strategies, and sovereign technology competitiveness. He is a frequent speaker and panelist at global conferences, where he shares insights on quantum technologies, future of computing, and ethical innovation.
